THREE UNIQUE CULTURES THAT EXIST IN KOREA

Beside having good progress in the economic and transportation sectors, Korea also still has a quite thick cultural side. There are a variety of Korean cultures that are very interesting to know. Starting from the form of a traditional house until the dances, everything look interesting.

              1) Hanok (한옥)

Hanok is the name for a traditional Korean house, which is used to distinguish it from western architectural styles. The construction of Hanok, very concerned about circumstances, especially about the geographical conditions and also the seasons. Hanok's interior structure is also also very calculated, according to the Baesanimsu (배산임수)  system, it regulates the ideal position of the house which is backs up the mountain and the river in front of the house. Usually, Hanok is built from natural materials such as wood, earth, stone, straw, tile, and paper.


   2) Hanbok (한복)

               Although the name is not much different from Korean traditional houses, this Hanbok is not part of a traditional house. Hanbok is a traditional South Korean outfit that today refers to the Joseon Dynasty, which is a combination of a rather bubbly 
Chima and Jeogori that is covered with a ribbon on one side. Usually, Hanbok is used in semi-formal and formal events, such as in a traditional celebration or festival.

    3) Minsook Muyong (민속 무용)

 Minsook Muyong is a designation for a Korean folk dance. Initially, this dance was used for religious events, ritual worship for the gods, or celebrations of the masses. Folk dance expresses people's emotions and the way they are. The people can dance it freely, and with a little limitation with fast tempo music background. Nowadays, folk dances have blended into community activities such as entertainment and art.
